![]() ![]() Or if you’re in college and your hormones are driving you crazy. Watch Yaariyan only if you are bored to death. When enemies from the past kill his wife and brother-in-law, a former mafia enforcer and his daughter flee to Milan to plot their revenge. He flashes his million dollar grin in every frame, which soon gets very, very irritating. ![]() Also, newbie Himansh Kholi needs to work on his ever-smiling face. Brilliant actors like Deepti Naval and Gulshan Grover are wasted. The most important element - the script! There is too much happening at one point and then suddenly there is nothing happening at all beyond the bosom popping. Performance wise, Himansh Kholi is decent and the rest are just okay. Also, the first half is tolerable thanks to some good comic punches. There is a motorcycle and bicycle race scene that has been shot brilliantly. The locales are beautiful and will make you go 'wow'. As for the cinematography - the film has been shot in virgin and unexplored parts of Darjeeling and in Australia. And Yo Yo Honey Singh’s special number is delicious icing on the cake. The songs are peppy and colourful and will certainly cheer you up every time you regret walking into the theatre. Hands down it has to be the music and then the cinematography. ![]() After all, class bunk marke thodi na koi meaningful picture dekhne jayega! Maybe collegegoers won’t mind watching a film that hardly makes sense. That’s why Yaariyan failed to make any impact on me. Divya tries to incorporate too many issues into one plot. I am glad that I haven’t come across any such college in my life! The story shifts from the touchy mode to sports, Australia, racial attacks, patriotism and lots of cleavage popping out of the screen into your face. Even the teachers suffer from some hormonal locha and cannot keep their hands off each other. It doesn’t end there, with the youngsters. What’s bizarre is that the entire college is gung-ho about Himansh’s first kiss. Lakshya (Himansh) is desperate to experience his first kiss, but something goes wrong every time he aims to get it. #Yaariyan film movieThe movie revolves around four college friends who are pretty much good for nothing. But sadly, this college rom-com is no match to Farah Khan and Karan Johar’s hit filmsĭivya Khosla Kumar’s directorial debut Yaariyan stars Himansh Kholi, Serah Singh, Rakul Preet Singh, Nicole Faria, Gulshan Grover and Deepti Naval. Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan will remind you a bit of Main Hoon Na and Student of The Year. Directed by Deepak Grewal, the film also stars Om Puri and Gulshan Grover. However, when Divya's husband Bhushan Kumar asked Saif about it, the actor-producer gave up his rights on the title without charging anything for it.For the longest time I haven’t been subjected to a film that is so mind-numbing. Yaariyan (Punjabi: ) is a 2008 Punjabi film, produced by Pinky Basrao starring Gurdas Maan as the male lead and Bhumika Chawla playing his love interest. Saif's interest in the title came from the fact that his film "Cocktail" (2012) had a song with the same title. When Divya Khosla Kumar decided on the film's eventual title, she found out that Saif Ali Khan had already registered it. The film was initially titled "Class Of 2013".This was the debut Hindi film of its lead actors Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet, Nicole Faria, Serah Singh, Devanshu Sharma, and Shreyas Pardiwalla. It was released in theaters in January 2014. The film's music was released in December 2013 and the film was certified the same month. The film's end credits were shown over a montage of "making of the film" shots featuring Divya Khosla Kumar and her son Ruhaan Kumar. A message from her was displayed before the film's end credits - "The most difficult job on earth is to be a mother and one of the toughest jobs in the world is to direct a film. The film was produced by her husband Bhushan Kumar's Super Cassettes Industries Limited. This was the directorial debut of former model and actress Divya Khosla Kumar. ![]()
